MANAGEMENT DATA INC. RELEASES VARIABLE ANNUITY PAYOUT CAPABILITY IN FIMMAS ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM

BIRMINGHAM, AL, May 28 – MDI’s FIMMAS Insurance Administration System now supports Variable Annuity Payouts through its Repetitive Payments Module. The new capability offers an optional fixed payout component and multiple variable funds on the same contract. The variable payout components are revalued on each payment due date, based on the change in the underlying unit values.

With this addition, FIMMAS supports a full range of annuities (fixed and variable), supplementary contracts, settlement options, long term care, disability, and other types of insurance products that have recurring payouts. The FIMMAS Repetitive Payments Module also supports death claims and other types of lump sum payments on a variety of insurance products administered by FIMMAS or other insurance administration systems. FIMMAS Repetitive Payments capability is available for in-house license or through the SaaS (Software as a Service Provider).

NEW YORK LIFE GOES LIVE WITH CLAIMS SUPPORT ON MDI’S FIMMAS ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM


BIRMINGHAM, AL, September 18 – The Group Membership Association Division of New York Life Insurance Company selected MDI’s FIMMAS Administration System to replace its existing Claims Processing system for life and disability products in its Tampa and New York offices. The final phase of the project went live in July 2008.

FIMMAS gives New York Life the ability to support both fully administered and self-administered groups, with an automated process to pay Life claims and fully automated repetitive payments for Disability and Office Overhead claims. FIMMAS also provides the ability to preview and project payments prior to the actual payment, including claims with multiple benefits.

New York Life’s Group Membership Association sells a variety of association group and voluntary worksite products, including Term Life, Whole Life, AD&D, and Office Overhead products. FIMMAS™ Retro/Reinsurance Capabilities Integrate VSC and Credit Life Data for Combined Commissions and Reinsurance

Management Data, Inc. announces new Retro/Reinsurance capabilities for FIMMAS™, MDI's Flexible Insurance Marketing, Management, and Administration System. This enhanced functionality merges administrative data from external Vehicle Services Contracts and the FIMMAS credit life/debt cancellation system to calculate the value of retro commissions or reinsurance profit participation for auto dealers and agent- or dealer-owned reinsurance companies. Management Data, Inc. Announces IVR, XML, and Web-Access Capabilities for FIMMAS

Management Data, Inc. (MDI) announces new interface capabilities for FIMMAS, MDI's Flexible Insurance Marketing, Management, and Administration System. Through this interface, FIMMAS users can retrieve information from the FIMMAS administrative database in real-time mode from any touch-tone phone or Internet web browser, enabling IVR systems and secure web site / web browser access to real-time data for inquiry and live update.
 
The new interface, developed by MDI and I-Alliance of Indian Head, PA, allows any third-party application to call and update FIMMAS client and policy data, using LifeAlliance software from I-Alliance. Through the interface, agents and policyholders have web-based, real-time access into the FIMMAS database to submit client or policy information, download insurance forms, and retrieve last payment information via IVR. 
 
The FIMMAS / LifeAlliance interface uses WebSphere MQ, the industry-leading middleware software from IBM. The interface makes any client's FIMMAS database able to respond to calls from any third-party application written in JAVA, COBOL, Visual Basic, C++, REXX, or any other programming language with an MQ interface.

Management Data, Inc. Announces Java Release of FIMMAS / IND and FIMMAS / GROUP

Management Data, Inc. (MDI), announced the release of a new Java-based client version of FIMMAS, MDI’s Flexible Insurance Marketing, Management, and Administration System for group and individual products. With the introduction of the new Java client, FIMMAS Release 8.7 provides enhanced support for Web integration, simplified transfer of files between workstations and server, and streamlined integration between server and desktop applications. FIMMAS uses Java-based “client in a browser” technology to allow any user anywhere in the world to connect to FIMMAS via the Internet. The Java applet is downloaded when the company’s web page is accessed, and no advance installation of special client software is required. The new Java-based client also provides an enhanced graphical user interface for streamlined access to FIMMAS support for individual and group life, health, and annuity products.

FIMMAS is a full-function, client-based, multi-currency and multi-language administration system, with integrated support for individual and group products on a single system.
